Eating and drinking on the go is part of modern lifestyle. This is also linked to the requirement for flexible packaging solutions. In Germany, for example, the market volume in the catering sector, including among others plastic silverware and cookery, paper and cups, amounts to roughly 3.5 billion Euros. In the last ten years, this market has grown on average by seven percent each year. As a result, there is (and must be) a broad spectrum of bioplastics products available for the food and catering segment. The selection ranges from cups, mugs and trays to plates and cutlery.
